Chasing Shade is a band based out of Iowa City, Iowa comprised of Griffen Harris, Tim Cigrand, and Elliott Beenk. With drums, acoustic and electric guitar, bass and vocals, the group covers a lot of ground using only three people. They are dedicated to creating music that they are proud to call their own, while simultaneously connecting with a broad and ever-expanding audience. In the coming year Chasing Shade hopes to expand their fan base and record their debut album.
Inspiration for Chasing Shade’s sound comes from a variety of old and new musicians such as Bon Iver, My Morning Jacket, The Avett Brothers, Neil Young, Local Natives, The Tallest Man on Earth, Wilco, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Band, and Jack Johnson, among others. Chasing Shade plans on playing in and around the Iowa City area as well as touring the surrounding states in an effort to connect with as many other bands and fans as possible.
